Bengtsson (1997) lässt wissen: "Wiltshire (1957: 134) is here quoted. Larva found in autumn [in Iraq] on Tamarix, quickly moving [...] S. bagdadiella is supposed to inhabit river valleys where the foodplant occurs."

Nupponen (2007) meldet den Fund eines Falters im Süd-Ural am Licht: "Russia, southern Urals, 50º 40-45’ N 54º 26-28’ E, 210 m a.s.l., Orenburg oblast, Pokrovka village 20 km S, Schibendy valley, 22-VIII-2006, 1 ♂, K. Nupponen leg. Genitalia slide: K. Nupponen prep. no. 1/24-IX-2006. (Figs. 10-12).
Distribution: Algeria, Iraq, Russia (S Ural), Turkey. Remarks: [...] The habitat is a chalk steppe. New to Europe and Russia."
Nupponen (2007) ergänzt die Liste durch einen Nachweis in Usbekistan.
