Butler (1894: 669) beschrieb die Art nach einem Sammlungsexemplar aus “Zomba” (Malawi).Williams (2018: 2) schrieb dann zur Verbreitung: "Distribution: Democratic Republic of Congo (Shaba), Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe (north)." Die Art scheint zu den häufigeren Arten in Afrika zu gehören.
