Corley & Ferreira (2019: 209-210) schreiben zur Raupe: "Larvae have been found on olive (Olea europaea L.) on Rhodos. Olea is in the same family (Oleaceae) as Phillyrea. No description of the larva exists, but Klimesch reared both this species and R. rosetella without questioning their identity, in spite of the different host-plants, from which it can be concluded that the larvae of the two species appear similar."

4.2. Taxonomie
Corley & Ferreira (2019) überführen die Art von Cacochroa in die neue Gattung Rosetea.
Bei Karsholt & Razowski (1996) wurde die Gattung Cacochroa in der Tribus Orophiini bei den Oecophoridae geführt. Danach wurde sie zu den Depressariidae und dort in die Tribus Cryptolechiini der Cryptolechiinae gestellt. Nach Wang & Li (2020) ist beides falsch. Nach ihrer Analyse gehören die Arten der Gattungen Orophia und Cacochroa (damals noch inkl. Rosetea - untersucht wurde "Cacochroa corfuella") entweder als eigener Zweig zu den Pterolonchidae oder in eine eigene kleine Nachbar-Familie. Der Familienanschluss ist daher "uncertain". Kaila et al. (2024) stellen Cacocroa, Rosetea und Zizyphia zurück zu den Depressariidae in eine basale Unterfamilie Cacachroinae: "Because Orophiinae Lvovsky, 1974 is a secondary homonym of Orophiini Thomson, 1863 (Coleoptera: Ciidae), and Cryptolechiinae is considered here as being unrelated to it, the name Cacochroini Leraut, 1993 is reinstated as a valid family-group name as Cacochroinae within Depressariidae (Gelechioidea), with Eutornini Lvovsky, 2019, syn. nov. as a subjective junior synonym of Cacochroini."
4.3. Faunistik
Die Art wurde von der Insel Korfu (Griechenland) beschrieben. Barton (2018) führt sie erstmals auch für Zypern an (siehe hierzu auch obige Bilder!). Ein äußerlich sehr ähnliches, genitaliter aber stark abweichendes Weibchen aus Portugal wurde von Corley (2018) als eigene Art - Rosetea rosetella - beschrieben. Nach Corley & Ferreira (2019) können das Verbreitungsgebiet erweitern: "Croatia, Macedonia, Greece including Crete and islands close to Turkish coast, Turkey, Cyprus, Israel".
