Im Abstract der Arbeit von Yuan & Wang (2009) ist zu lesen: "A new species of oecophorid, Ripeacma umbellata Wang, is described based on the specimens collected from Hong Kong, China. Images of the adult and figures of the genital structures are provided."

Zhi & Yin (2021) untersuchten das komplette Mitogenom der Art, was die Einordnung der Gattung bei den Autostichidae bestätigte.
