3. Weitere Informationen

3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

KC et al. (2026: 85) erklären: "The specific name, laximae, is a genitive patronym dedicated to Laxmi Khadka, the mother of the first author, derived from “Laxima,” an informal name by which she is called."

3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik

KC et al. (2026: 83) merken zu ihrer Komplett-Genomanalyse an: "The newly described species, R. laximae sp. nov. (Figs 4, 5a) is more closely related to R. duma (hewitson, 1878) (Fig. 5b) than to the R. nissa complex or R. rectivitta, although the autosomal and Z-chromosome trees do not recover R. laximae sp. nov. and R. duma as reciprocally monophyletic, in contrast to the mitochondrial tree (see Discussion). Additionally, R. huangi is genetically distinct from R. nissa based on analyses of the Z chromosome, nuclear DNA, and mitochondrial DNA. It shows a closer relationship to R. selira (Moore, 1874) than to R. nissa, contrary to previous assumptions by Nakamura & Seki (2017, 2019) and KC et al. (2025), which suggested a closer affinity to R. nissa. The results also indicate that R. huangi from Uttarakhand (western himalayas) is genetically distinct from R. huangi from northeastern India (eastern himalayas); however, assigning a subspecies name to these taxa is not possible without examining the DNA of the holotype from central Nepal (central himalayas), as it is unclear whether the holotype represents the eastern or the western himalayas population."

KC et al. (2026: 89)können zur Verbreitung nur schreiben: "Currently known only from Taw Maw, Kachin State, Myanmar (Burma); potentially also occurring in neighboring parts of northeastern India."
