Die Raupe lebt - wie die vermutlich aller Pyroderces-Arten Europas - in Blütenköpfen von Asteraceen (Korbblütlern). Koster & Sinev (2003) listen auf:

  • [Asteraceae:] Echinops ritro ssp. ruthenicus [= Echinops ruthenicus] (Ruthenische Kugeldistel)
  • [Asteraceae:] Centaurea orientalis
  • [Asteraceae:] Centaurea salonitana (Split-Flockenblume)
