3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Nach Arnscheid et al. (2024: 192) ist der Holotypus aus Libyen das einzige bisher bekannte Exemplar dieser Art. Die Autoren äußern sich vorsichtig zum Artstatus: “Given the current political situation at the type locality, it is unlikely that up-to-date research material will be available in the foreseeable future. Therefore, we leave it in this revision with the statement of Bourgogne with P. desertorum as a separate species.”

Turati (1927: 322) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen Falter: “1 esemplare di Ain Mara”. Nach Arnscheid (2024: 193) ist es ein ♂.
