2.1. Nahrung der Raupe
- [Poaceae:] Elymus athericus [= Elytrigia atherica] (Strand-Quecke)
Beaumont (2004: 159) verwies auf ein Ausstellungsobjekt: "Langmaid, J.R. Psamathocrita argentella P.& M., Southsea, Hampshire, a series of six reared from seeds of Elytrigia atherica collected 10.ix.2002, moths emerged vi.2003. The first time that this species has been reared." Bei Gregersen & Karsholt (2022: 241) heißt es dazu: "The biology has been studied by Langmaid and Thirlwell and is here referred from Bland (2002: 98-99): [...] Host-plant. Elytrigia anthericus. The larva feeds on the developing flower and seed, extruding whitish frass which can sometimes be seenadherinmg to the spikelet; it is unknown whether the larva leaves the feeding place to pupate or remains inside the spikelet and - together with this- drops to the ground in late summer (Bland op. cit.). [...] After unravelling the biology, larvae were found in numbers in a few localities in S England." Laid deep inside a floret of sea couch (Elytrigia antherica. Ovipositing must be a hazardous act, as several moths were found dead or dying with their ovipositors firmly trapped in the spikelet by the stiff scale-like glumes and lemmas Sea couch was originally suggested as the foodplant by Ffennell (1974) who observed many moths running up the grass stemms and resting with wings partially extended."

3. Weitere Informationen
3.1. Faunistik
Huemer, DNA Barcode ID TLMF_Lep_38895." Er kommentiert: "The strongly isolated record from Greece represents the southern-most occurence of the species."

3.2. Typenmaterial
Pierce & Metcalfe (1942: 255-256): “In 1939 Metcalfe took some examples of a species previously discovered by Messrs. Fassnidge and Ford in a salt marsh near Southampton. [...] Types in Coll. Pierce ♂ and ♀, co-types in Coll. Metcalfe.”
