Nach der [Fauna Europaea] kommt die Art in Spanien vor.

Traugott-Olsen (1995: 422): “Holotype male, Spain “Granada, Granada; Lonicera sp. 18-V., ex. 20-VII-1901. Wlsm, 98075”; “Walsingham Collection”; “Scirtopoda herrichiella H.-S. male, named by Wlsm”; BM genitalia slide no. 1944, male, including preparation of right wing.
Paratypes 4 males, 6 females. Same locality data as holotype, but daten emerging between 2-VII-1901, and 30-VII-1901, but one larva taken 6-VI, BMNH. genitalia slide nos. 26460 male and 26461 male. Walsingham nos. 98068 - 98074, 98078, 98079, 98081. With the type series is a preserved larva, same locality data as holotype but dated 17-VI-1901. Walsingham no. 98082. All of the type material is in the BMNH.”
