Arnscheid & Weidlich (2017) erläutern: "Hellenia culminella was described by Sieder (1964: 124) as a separate genus and new species but later he revised this (Sieder 1964: 136) and synonymized Hellenia with Peloponnesia and downgraded Hellenia culminella to subspecies of P. glaphyrella. Stengel (1990: 216) upgraded culminella again to separate species but based on very poor material. After examination of extensive material of P. glaphyrella collecting in Greece at many different Locations since 1999 the authors have no doubt that culminell is at best a subspecies or ecological infrasubspecific form of P. glaphyrella."
