Schütze (1931: 131) behandelt die Raupe unter "Oxalis - Sauerklee" und schreibt dazu: "Im Frühjahr in Wäldern in einer aus mehreren Blättchen geformten Röhre; ich fand sie auch an Anemone, Ajuga, Vaccinium myrtillus, nach Sorhagen auch an Chrysosplenium, Aquilegia, Ranunculus ficaria, nach Kennel Lamiastrum galeobdolon [Lamium galeobdolon agg.] und Mercurialis (Schütze)." Nach Hancock et al. (2015: 146) spielt das Scharbockskraut in Großbritannien die Hauptrolle als Eiablagepflanze. Die Raupen sind im Frühling zu finden: "lives within a folded-down edge of a leaf, eating the under surface but leaving the upper surface intact, or gnawing neighbouring leaves."
