2.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Tóth & Ronkay (2015) erklären: "The specific name refers to the high external similarity of the new species to otherwise not closely related congeners (vicina = neighbour)."

Die Art ist bisher nur durch die kleine Typenserie vom Süden der Insel Palawan (Philippinen) bekannt.
