Tóth & Ronkay (2015) erklären: "The beautiful male genitalia inspired us to give the specific name."

Die Art ist bisher nur durch die kleine Typenserie aus dem Norden von Vietnam bekannt.

Tóth & Ronkay (2015) listen: "Holotype. ♂, Vietnam, Lao Cai province, Sa Pa district, Frontier Satelite Camp, 22° 19’ 17,7”N, 103°47’30,9”E, 2240 m, 18–22 VIII.1998, leg. A. Kun; slide No. RL7920m (coll. HNHM). Paratypes. 2 ♂, with the same data as the holotype; slide Nos RL7921m, RL7942m (coll. HNHM)."
