Gozmány (1985: 248): “The new species is dedicated in friendship and esteem to (the late) W. Glaser and his wife, for their common merits in collection and exploring the microlepidopterous faunas of the wider Mediterranean region.”

Gozmány (1985: 248): “Holotype male: « Hispania, Prov. Malaga Strasse Tarifa - Algeciras 14 km westl. Algec. 200 m 14.9.1974 leg. M. u. W. Glaser » « Holotypus » « Holcopogon glaserorum gen. prep. No 5360 Dr. L. Gozmány ». Paratype male, with the same data, but slide number 5355. Holotype preserved in the Glaser Collection, Vienna, paratype in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest.”
