3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Han & Han (2025) erläutern: "The species name is from the Latin word “spiralis”, meaning spiraling, referring to the spiral corpus bursae."

3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Han & Han (2025) studierten die Gattung Eversmannia in China. Zu der nur ganz im Nordosten des Landes vorkommenden Eversmannia exornata kamen 3 neu beschriebene Arten; 3 weitere Arten die bisher in Epiplema steckten, wurden neu mit Eversmannia kombiniert, so dass die bisher monotypische Gattung plötzlich 7 Arten enthält.

Zur neu beschriebenen E. spiralis heißt es: "This new species can be easily distinguished from other species of the genus by the following characters: (1) forewing: with a big dark brown semicircle shaped patch at terminal area near apex; in other species only with small spots or patches near apex. (2) Male genitalia: the caecum of aedeagus strongly expanded; in other species the caecum is straight or slightly expanded. (3) Female genitalia: the ductus bursae is spiral shaped, signum absent; in other species the ductus bursae is slightly curved; signum absent."

Die neue Art wurde aus Chongqing beschrieben und ist bisher nur von Zhejiang, Chongqing und Guizhou, also aus dem südöstlichen Viertel Chinas bekannt.
