3.4. Taxonomie

Fibiger (1990) unterscheidet Euxoa amplexa Corti, 1931 und Euxoa christophi (Staudinger, 1870). Fibiger (1997) erkennt in Euxoa amplexa ein Synonym von Euxoa emolliens (Hampson, 1905), unterscheidet also Euxoa emolliens (Hampson, 1905) und Euxoa christophi (Staudinger, 1870). Er zeigt Fotos der Genitalien beider Geschlechter der beiden Arten und nennt im Text Unterschiede derselben. Bei Fibiger et al. (2010) findet sich dann eine kurze Notiz: "Subsequently close study of specimens of this species-group has shown that both E. (E.) amplexa Corti, 1931 and E. (E.) emolliens Hampson, 1905 are the same as E. (E.) christophi, and are synonymised here (new synonymies). Among other features, they share uniquely the long and narrow subbasal foot-shaped diverticulum on the vesica." Die Fauna Europaea folgt dieser Synonymisierung. Sie ist allerdings nicht unumstritten. So betont Alexey Matov im Schreiben an Andrey Ponomarev: "Матов: это 2 разных вида, что было признано и в Noctuidae Europaeae 3, где раздел по этой группе написан достаточно качественно и убедительно. Euxoa emolliens ближе к другому виду - sabuletorum, от которого внешне отличается однотонной окраской, а у christophi даже рисунок другой.", was A. Ponomarev übersetzt mit: "Matov: it is 2 different types, which was recognized in the Noctuidae Europaeae 3, where the section on the group written enough quality and convincing. Euxoa emolliens closer to another species - sabuletorum, which looks different from a monochromatic color, while christophi even drawing the other."

Bis hier Einigkeit besteht werden die beiden Taxa auch im Lepiforum als getrennte Arten geführt.

Euxoa christophi und Euxoa emolliens sind aus europäischer Sicht beide auf den Osten beschränkt (Russland, Ukraine).
