2.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Henderickx (1995) erläutert: "As far as we know, the distribution of the species is limited to the Azores, in the centre of the Atlantic. Therefore I propose the Name Eudarcia atlantica."

2.2. Faunistik

Locus typicus (Holotypus und 4 Paratypen - allesamt Weibchen) ist: Spanien, Azoren, Terçeira, Angra do Heroïsmo, 0-20 m. Nach Borges et al. (2018) ist die Art bisher nur von der Typenlokalität auf den Azoren (Terçeira, Angra do Heroïsmo) und von Sao Miguel (dort erstmals auch Männchen) bekannt.
