2.1. Nahrung der Raupe

Cock (2015: 11) fasst das geringe Wissen zur Biologie der Art zusammen: "Steiner [130, 133] records the later feeding on Licuala kunstleri in Peninsular Malaysia. It is a rare species found from Southern Myanmar and Thailand to Borneo and Palawan [1, 18], so is unlikely to account for many of the records of other Erionota spp. from palms." Die Art gehört also zu den an Palmen lebenden Arten der Gattung Erionota. Ob sie an Licuala kunstleri gebunden ist, noch andere Strahlenpalmen der Gattung Licuala nutzt oder gar auch Palmen anderer Gattungen besiedelt, scheint noch ungeklärt zu sein.

Hewitson (1876: 451) beschrieb seine neue Art aus Singapur, Staudinger (1889: 135) das Synonym Erionota mabillei von der zu den Philippinen gehörenden Insel Palawan. Cock (2015: 11) erklärt: "It is a rare species found from Southern Myanmar and Thailand to Borneo and Palawa."
