Huemer & Karsholt (2020) nehmen die Art in ihre Europa-Checkliste auf und begründen dies mit Funden in Griechenland: "Epidola semitica. This species was described from a single male from Israel, but according to recently collected material it also occurs in Greece (new record for Europe, for detailed data see dataset in BOLD)."
Bidzilya et al. (2019: 33) hatten noch vermerkt: "Epidola semitica was described from a single (worn) male collected by W. Einsler 20th June 1930 at Ain Karem near Jerusalem. The holotype was stated to be deposited in the collection of the Deutsches Kolonial- und Übersee-Museum in Bremen, but could not be traced there during a visit by OK in 2008. No additional specimens were mentioned in the original description, although we were able to examine three additional specimens in SMNK, collected on the same occasion. Two of them, male and female, bear a “type” label. It is unclear to us if any of these represents the holotype."
