3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)
Bidzilya & Rajaei (2026: 25) erklären: "The species name is derived from Latin word “permana” – means hardly captured, elusive, referring to it absence in otherwise rich collection material from adjacent regions of South Africa."
3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik
Bidzilya & Rajaei (2026: 24) diagnostizieren: "The species is characterized externally by its white forewing densely mottled with brown and yellow, with indistinct brown spots in the cell. Ephysteris crypticus sp. nov. is very similar, but the ground colour of the forewings in E. crypticus sp. nov. is white rather than yellowish white, and the forewings are broder. Ephysteris jansei sp. nov. is also similar to the new species, but E. jansei sp. nov. is larger in wingspan (12.0 mm in contrast to 10.0 mm in E. permanus sp. nov.)."
Die Art wurde aus Südafrika beschrieben und ist bisher nur durch den Holotypus bekannt.

Bidzilya & Rajaei (2026: 24) beschrieben ihre neue Art nach einem einzelnen Männchen: "Holotype ♂ [South Africa], Renosterpoort, Bronkhorstspruit Distr., 14.iii.1975, leg. L. Potgieter & M. Scoble; gen. slide 355/23, O. Bidzilya (TMSA)."
