2.1. Faunistik, Diagnose

Sruoga (1990) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen ♂ aus der südöstlichsten Region im asiatischen Teil von Russland.

Albrecht & Kaila (1994: 35) teilen zu ihrem Erstnachweis für Europa, Estland mit: “During a trip to Estonia in 1990 the first author collected four Elachista specimens (3♂♂, 1♀) externally resembling E. nobilella Zeller, but with a leaden grey head. The male specimens exactly fit Sruoga's description of E. fuscofrontella, and although we have not had the opportunity to study the holotype, we are confident that our specimens belong to this species, despite the great distance between Estonia and the type locality.” In der Arbeit von Albrecht & Kaila (1994: 36-37) sind die Genitalien eines der estländischen ♂♂ abgebildet, außerdem in Gesamtansicht und zwei Detailansichten die Genitalien des erstmals gefundenen ♀.
