3.1. Taxonomie und Faunistik
Dendrolimus superans wurde aus Japan beschrieben. Die Art wird von der Fauna Europaea [Fauna Europaea, last update 29 August 2013, Version 2.6.2] unter dem Subspeziesnamen Dendrolimus superans sibiricus (Tschetverikov 1908) mit Vorkommen im Osten des europäischen Teils von Russland angeführt. Nach Mikkola & Ståhls (2008) handelt es sich beim Taxon sibiricus aber um eine bona species: Dendrolimus sibiricus (Tschetverikov 1908). Die ostasiatische Dendrolimus superans tritt demnach in Europa nicht auf. Entsprechende Angaben beziehen sich auf Dendrolimus sibiricus, teilweise auch auf die neu beschriebene Dendrolimus kilmez.
