3.2. Faunistik
Fibiger et al. (2007: 200) können das Vorkommen auf Malta bestätigen: "Material. Malta, 1♂ Mriehel, 3.xi.l948, leg. Valletta (AV); 1♂ Naxxar, 8.iii.2002, leg. Sammut (PS). The record by Sammut from Naxxar is the second specimen of this North African species for the Maltese Islands. Boths specimens have been taken at light. Beside these two records, one more European specimen is recorded from Greece (Ronkay & Ronkay, 1995). Cucullia species are most often not attracted to light, but much easier to observe while they visit flowers in the dusk and dawn, flying like a humming-bird when they are nectaring. They are good and fast flyers." Möglicherweise handelte es sich in beiden Fällen um Vagabunden aus Nordafrika, doch Sammut (1984) hatte zu dieser Art ja noch vermerkt: "Recorded by Borg as "very common". Not recorded again." Es spricht also doch mehr für (wenigstens zeitweise) Etablierung der Art auf Malta.
