2.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Dixey (1915: 1-4) teilt zu seinem Typenmaterial mit: "1 ♂, 3 ♀♀ (Taveta), in Hope Collection, Oxford. The male and one of the females were bred by the Rev. K. St. A. Rogers, emerging on August 6, 1905. A second female was captured on August 7, 1905, and a third female on July 16, 1910, both by Mr. Rogers."

Dixey (1915: 1-4) beschrieb seine Art als "Teracolus rogersi" nach 4 Faltern aus Taveta in Kenia.

Nazari et al. (2011) stellen die Art innerhalb der Gattung Colotis in ihre "Group III" zwischen C. antevippe und C. euippe.
