2.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Butler (1876: 145) beschrieb seine "Teracolus lais" nach einem einzelnen ♂ mit Fundort "Orange River, S. Africa", also aus dem Grenzgebiet von Südafrika zu Namibia.

Nazari et al. (2011) führen die Art innerhalb der Gattung Colotis in ihrer "Group III" und stellen sie dort zwischen C. pallene und C. daira.
