2.3. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Die variable Art wurde oftmals und unter verschiedenen Namen beschrieben. Felder & Felder (1859: 272) meldeten zu "Anthocharis heuglini": "Vom königl. württemb. Hofratlie Herrn Theodor von Heuglin, damaligen Verweser des k. k. Konsulats in Ost-Sudan, auf seiner jüngsten Expedition nach dem Somalilande in der Nähe des Cap Guardafui (10° N. B.) gefangen." Felder & Felder ([1865]: 186 bzw. 188) beschrieben Anthopsyche demagore ohne Fundort und Anthopsyche dalila von "Africa septentrionali-orientalis: Bogos (Hansal.)" Swinhoe (1884: 440-441) beschrieb "Teracolus xanthus" von "Between Berber and Khartoum", "Teracolus yerburii" und "Teracolus saxeus" von "Haithalkim near Aden", sowie "Teracolus odysseus" von "White Nile". Butler (1884: 491) nannte ebenfalls "Haithalkim" als Fundort seiner "Teracolus swinhoei". Butler ([1886]: 771-772) führte schließlich "Teracolus jamesi aus "Somali-Land" an.

Nazari et al. (2011) führen die Art innerhalb der Gattung Colotis in ihrer "Group III" und stellen sie dort zwischen C. lais und C. evagore.
