2.1. Falter
Elwes & Edwards (1897: 128) erklären in ihrer Erstbeschreibung nur kurz: "This species is founded on the male specimen from Camiguin de Mindanao referred to by Semper (J. c.) as differing from his other specimens of laxmi in having the hyaline spots smaller and yellower, and the hind wing above browner, with the outer row of dark spots more distinct. Fortunately we have been able to examine the clasp-form of this specimen without dissection, and find that it differs from that of laxmi in the particulars given in the table above. The angulation of the hind wing also is less evident than in laxmi."

3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)
Elwes & Edwards (1897) erklären ihre Namenswahl nicht, allerdings wurde ihr Holotypus von (Georg) "Semper" gefangen, dem Beschreiber der Coladenia igna.
3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik
Elwes & Edwards (1897: 128) beschrieben ihre neue Art ohne nähere Ortsangabe von den Philippinen. Nach Huang (2021: 570) ist "Camiguin de Mindanao" die Typenlokalität.
