Schmidt (2002: 709): “The specific name reflects the similarity to, and close relationsip with, C. oxyntis.”

Schmidt (2002: 707): “Holotype. ♂, Queensland, 17°16'S 145°54'E, Base Cableway, Mt Bellenden-Ker, 80 m, coll. EDE, 29.x.1981 (ANIC).” — Paratypes: 7 ♂♂, 5 ♀♀.
