2.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Plötz (1883: 228) beschrieb seine "Hesperia chrysozona" von den Philippinen. Später wurden dem Taxon etliche Unterarten zugesellt, die nach Chiba et al. (2026) aber alle zu anderen Arten der Gattung Cephrenes gehören. Chiba et al. (2026: 520) schreiben zu Cephrenes chrysozona: "Although identifying specimens conspecific with the lectotype of H. acalle based solely on wing patterns is challenging, the genomic analysis shows that it is likely conspecific with the three subspecies that Evans (1949) placed in chrysozona: niasica (Plötz, 1886), nicobarica Evans, 1932, and kliana Evans, 1934, but not with chrysozona from the Philippines, which is a distinct species that we confirm as Cephrenes chrysozona Plötz, 1883 (Fig. 4)."

Mape et al. (2021: 21) listeten "Cephrenes acalle chrysozona" als neu für Catanduanes Island ganz im Osten der Philippinen.
