3. Weitere Informationen

The specific name shaoshangae is named after the female lead, Cheng Shaoshang, of a successful Chinese drama “Love like the galaxy” [星漢燦爛] released in 2022. She represents an intelligent figure who overcomes numerous bad lucks and difficulties to win a wonderful life with integrity and courage. The Chinese name for the genus Celaenorrhinus is 星弄蝶, literally meaning the “Star Skippers”. In the drama, there is a metaphore to recognize Shaoshang as the brightest star in the galaxy. The new species is named so to show it is an unexpected, exciting discovery to its author."

3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik

Hsu in Hsu et al. (2026: 400) meldet zur Diagnose seines Überraschungsfundes: "Celaenorrhinus shaoshangae sp. nov. is similar to C. consanguineus in wing pattern and male genitalia, but can be distinguished from the latter by the following diagnostic characters: 1) the outer margin of hyaline spot in discoidal cell of forewing is not beyond that in CuA1 in consanguineus (Figs. 1–8), whereas it is beyond that in CuA1 in shaoshangae sp. nov. (Figs. 15–16); 2) the proximal marking in M cells of hindwing is a prominent rectangle in consanguineus (Figs. 1–8), whereas it is a small bar in shaoshangae sp. nov. (Figs. 15–16); 3) the forewing apex of shaoshangae sp. nov. is more acute (Figs. 15–16) than that of consanguineus (Figs. 1–8); 4) termen of forewing is nearly straight in shaoshangae sp. nov. (Fugs. 15–16), convex in than that of consanguineus (Figs. 1–8); 5) distal end of harpe is tapering to acute tip in consanguineus (Figs. 17, 19), whereas it is blunt in shaoshangae sp. nov. (Fig. 19)."

Und dann erklären sie zu C. shaoshangae: "Although the divergence of COI barcode between samples of “C. horishanus” + “C. consanguineus” and “C. consanguineus” of Yunnan + Tibet was 1.6–2.5%, lower than 3% average species boundary set by Hebert et al. (2003), the samples of “C. consanguineus” from Yunnan and Tibet formed a clade sister to “C. horishanus” + “C. consanguineus” excluding these region, with distinct male genitalia, and in isolated position in the result of NJ tree analysis. They are recognized as a distinct species and described as a new species, C. shaoshangae sp. nov., in the present article."

3.3. Typenmaterial

Hsu et al. (2026: 400) notierten: "Type materials. Holotype. ♂: CHINA: Yunnan Prov., Nujiang Zhou, Gongshan Xian, Maxidang, 1500–1550 m, 8. VI. 2009. Coll. X. Yang. Paratypes. 5 ♂, same locality and date as for holotype (3 dissected, genitalia YFH 1617, 1618, 1620) (IOZ, NTNU)."
