3.1. Taxonomie

Originalkombination ist Brachmia infuscatella Rebel, 1940. Brachmia ist eine Gattung der Gelechiidae

Huemer & Karsholt (2020: 70) schreiben unter der Überschrift "Taxon excluded from the Gelechiidae": "A single species originally described in the Gelechiidae is excluded from the family, viz. Brachmia infuscatella Rebel, 1940, and is transferred to Autostichidae without generic assignation." Die Art hat also vorläufig keinen gültigen Gattungsnamen. Wir führen sie im Lepiforum vorerst unter "Brachmia" infuscatella</> in der Familie Autostichidae ohne Anschluss an eine Unterfamilie.

3.2. Faunistik

Azoren-Endemit. Borges et al. (2018) umschreiben das Verbreitungsgebiet: <i>Brachmia infuscatella is an endemic species present in Faial, Pico, S. Jorge, Terceira and Santa Maria islands (Azores, Portugal) (Borges et al. 2010), known from native habitats (see Rebel 1940). It is known from the Natural Forest Reserve of Pico Alto (Santa Maria)."
