Frey (1878: 257) teilt mit: „Mein Mitarbeiter Boll entdeckte die unterseitige Mine in den Blättern von Heterotera scabra.“ Braun (1972: 84) klärt den Namen der Pflanze auf: “The spelling of the generic name is an error as there is no plant genus Heterotera. The correct name of the food plant is Heterotheca scabra (= Heterotheca grandiflora Nutt.).”
