4.2. Taxonomie
Bei SwissLepTeam (2010) ist zu "1474 Argyresthia marmorata" zu lesen: "Der Status dieses Taxons ist nicht geklärt. Gemäss Auskunft von P. Huemer (pers. Mitt.) gibt es im Natural History Museum in London keinen Beleg unter diesem Namen. Ein handschriftlicher Bleistiftvermerk weist jedoch darauf hin, dass es sich beim Taxon marmorata um 14443 A. reticulata handeln könnte."
Huemer (2009) geht in seiner Beschreibung von A. friulii auch auf einige weitere dubiose Arten der Gattung ein, eben auch auf A. marmorata; er schreibt: "Argyresthia marmorata was described from two specimens collected by Anderegg in Wallis (Frey 1880). Only two years later the author recognised that this species had been described earlier under the name A. reticulata by Staudinger “hat … zuerst beschrieben” [has described firstly] but he didn’t mention that he meant A. marmorata (Frey 1882). However, in his personal book “Schmetterlinge der Schweiz” Frey with a pencil note attributed A. marmorata to A. reticulata (Sattler, in litt.). No type-material was traced in The Natural History Museum, London, where the collection of Frey is preserved, but the description and the handwritten note by Frey leave no doubt to the identity. Since A. marmorata is still treated as a valid species in European catalogues, I formally synonymise it with A. reticulata." Wir folgen hier dieser plausiblen Synonymisierung.
4.3. Typenmaterial
In der Erstbeschreibung werden keine Typen festgelegt. Dort heißt es aber: "Das erste Stück erhielt ich von Herrn Emil Turati, der es auf der Alp Muotas bei Samaden (Ober-Engadin) im August dort fing." Nach Lewis & Sohn (2015) hat G. Friebe eben dieses von Turati gesammelte Tier von "Muottas | 8-74" 1968 als "Lectotype" bezettelt, dies aber nie publiziert. Lewis & Sohn (2015) holen dies daher nach.
4.4. Faunistik
Die Art ist in der Schweiz aus dem Wallis bekannt, nach Literaturangaben auch aus Graubünden.
Huemer et al. (2005: 262) melden den Erstnachweis der Art für Italien: "Material examined: 1 ♂, 1 ♀, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Udine, Pasian di Prato, 106 m, 5.V.2001, leg. Morandi (MFSN); 1 ♀, ditto, but 20.V.2001." Der Fund in der Stadt geht klar auf Juniperus-Pflanzungen zurück, was die Autoren auch entsprechend kommentieren: "This species was originally only known from Switzerland and France. Recently it has been imported unintentially to The Netherlands, Czech Republic and now Italy". Hier wäre wohl sicherheitshalber noch zu überprüfen, ob es sich nicht doch um verschleppte Argyresthia freyella handelte.
