Die Art wurde ohne Kommentar in die Europa-Checkliste von Huemer & Karsholt (2020) aufgenommen. Grundlage dürfte die Meldung von Bidzilya et al. (2019) sein, wo im Abstract zu lesen ist: "Anarsia balioneura Meyrick, 1921 is new to Cyprus and Libya".
