Christoph (1887: 84-86) beschrieb seine neue Art nach 2 Faltern von "Germob" und "Askhabad [= Aşgabat] im Achal-Tekke-Gebiet im Süden von Turkmenistan. Rajaei et al. (2023) führen die Art auch aus dem direkt angrenzenden Norden des Iran an (Provinz Nord-Chorasan). Sie merken dazu an: "New species for Iran: prov. Khorasan-e Shomali (Kopet Dagh, Piscaleh, 800 m) & (Kopet Dagh, 50 km SW Darregaz, 1200 m) & (Kopet Dagh, 55 km NW Darregaz, 1200 m); all leg. Gyulai, in PCPG."
