3.2. Taxonomie und Faunistik
Heppner & Landry (1994: 126) beschreiben ihre "Heliodines galapagoensis" nach Tieren der Galapagos-Inseln. Sie scheint ein Endemit dieser Inseln zu sein.
Hsu & Powell (2005: 117-122) überführten das Taxon in die Gattung Aetole und dort in eine nur aus dieser Art bestehende Aetole galapagoensis-Gruppe.
