2. Biologie

The early stages are unknown. Adults were collected in June (n = 2) and July (n = 31). We suppose that the larva feeds on Juniperus brevifolia (Seub.) Antonie (Cupressaceae) (see discussion). The collecting sites are laurisilva." In der Diskussion heißt es dann: "Interestingly Silva et al. (1995) found eggs and larvae of Argyresthia on J. brevifolia in the islands of Terceira and Faial but these immatures did not develop to adults and were eventually attributed to A. atlanticella by the authors. Surveys in this type of forest should be intensified to verify what exactly is the Argyresthia species that feeds on J. brevifolia.

The specific epithet refers to the Portuguese word «bruma», which translates as a typical fog, common of the laurisilva, in which it lives. This forest is present in Azores islands and it has an enormous interest from a conservation perspective."
