3.2. Faunistik

Die Art wurde nach Material in den "Canadian National Collection of Insects, Arachnids, and Nematodes, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada" beschrieben. [Tortricid.net] nennt "Canada, Alberta, Nordegg" als locus typicus.

Razowski (2003) führt O. nordeggana als europäische Art: "Distribution: In Europe known from Finland (Lapland) and Russia (Polar Ural); in Asia recorded from SW Alay and Irkutsk Distr. Nearctic region: U.S.A. Alsaka; Canada." Die Angaben zu Europa scheinen aber falsch zu sein. Jedenfalls findet sich auf [researchgate.net] das Abstract von Razowski (2004) mit dem Titel "Notes on and corrections to the ¿Tortricidae of Europe¿ (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae)". Dort heißt es: "Two species, viz., Olethreutes costimaculanus (Fernald) and Phiaris nordeggana McDunnough have to be excluded from the European Fauna [...]". Nach derzeitiger Kenntnis fehlt die Art in Europa also ganz.
