Riley (1939: 207) beschrieb die Art nach einem einzigen Falter: “The unique specimen upon which the above description has been based was very kindly presented to the British Museum (Natural History) by M. J. Mansfield, Esq., who discovered it amongst a large lot of butterflies in papers which had belonged to the late George Forrest, who was best known as a botanist, and had collected extensively in Yunnan. It is considered that it came almost certainly from some part of Yunnan, but reliable information is entirely lacking.”
