Matthews (1999: 190): “Helicoverpa hardwicki holotype ♂, AUSTRALIA, Northern Territory, 15°02'S 133°05'E, GPS, 12 km S of Mataranka, 31 March 1995, (Edwards, E.D., Matthews, M.), (ANIC, ANICdb 31 010548) [examined].” — Paratypes: 46 ♂♂ and 55 ♀♀, all from Western Australia and Northern Territory.
