3.1. Etymologie (Namenserklärung)

Shovkoon & Trofimova (2024: 68) erklären: "The species is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Thomas J. Witt, a famous lepidopterist and founder of the Witt Museum in Munich, whose collection fund made this research possible."

3.2. Faunistik

Shovkoon & Trofimova (2024: 66) beschreiben ihre neue Art von Borneo mit Paratypen auch von den Philippinen (Palawan Island, Tawi-Tawi Island). Zur Gesamtverbreitung schreiben sie entsprechend: "Borneo, and the nearest Philippine Islands of Palawan and Tawi-Tawi."

Shovkoon & Trofimova (2024: 66) informieren: "Holotype: MALAYSIA: BORNEO • 1 ♂; Borneo, Sabah, Trus Madi, 1200 m. 1.–14.iv.2005, leg. Martini (GU 25.852); ZSM."

Die lange Serie von Paratypen (40 ♂, 28 ♀) stammt ebenfalls von Borneo, z.T. aber auch von Palawan Island und Tawi-Tawi Island auf den nahen Philippinen.
