Die aus Australien stammende Art wurde zuerst 2005 in Aberglasney Gardens in Carmarthenshire (Großbritannien) registriert, dann wieder 2014.
Auf der [Artseite auf ukmoths.org.uk (abgefragt 2. Mai 2020)] ist zu erfahren: "An Australian species first discovered in 2010 at Abbotsbury, Dorset. Since then it has spread further afield including Wales & Devon."
Eine [Twittermeldung von Sam Bosanquet vom 6. May 2017] zeigt ein Bild des Falters und erläutert: "Carmarthenshire moth'ers have found abundant Pachyrhabda steropodes around Llandeilo; see Carms Moths Blog; photo from VC44 by Chris Manley."
Konkrete Meldungen finden sich auf der Artseite von [carmarthenshiremoths.co.uk]. So heißt es am 22. Mai 2019: "I caught a few more of these today ( 22 May 2019 ) at Cwmllwyd and although my photos are quite pathetic compared to CM's excellent shot in his renowned book, I have no doubt remaining about the identity of these moths. Many thanks to Paul Parsons for pointing me in the right direction." Und: "In case it's of any use to others, the Cwmllwyd individuals were almost entirely restricted to Soft Shield Fern very close to one of our streams." Und auch: "The spread of this species in Carmarthenshire is being amazingly well documented, but I think we need to start 'thinking outside the box' and check ferns more distant from the Tywi Valley. I'll do Brechfa this weekend, if others can do the Teifi and the far north-east. I assume Ian would have found this species if it had reached Llanelli Borough. It would be very useful indeed to know the current limits of this invasive moth's range." Und dann der methodische Suchhinweis: "Remember Steve`s point that soft shield fern is the best fern to check, but I`ve had it on male fern too, but never broad buckler fern etc. Soft shield fern likes base-enriched conditions. Just gently tap the fern and they`ll fly a short distance."
