3.1. Faunistik

Die Art ist nur aus Spanien bekannt. Scythris pseudolocustella wurde nach einem einzigen Männchen beschrieben, das anfiel, als in einer Studie zur Nahrung des Rothuhns (Alectoris rufa) ein Scythris-Männchen anfiel, das Passerin d'Entrèves & Vives (1990: 257) keiner bisher bekannten Art zuordnen konnten. Fundort war der 901 m hohe Almedina bei Ciudad Real (Kastilien-La Mancha). Nupponen (2013: 500) kann - nach Falterfunden in der Provinz Almería - endlich auch das Weibchen beschreiben.

Passerin d'Entrèves & Vives (1990: 257) beschrieben die Art nach einem einzigen ♂: “Holotypus macho, preparación genital 3005, con la indicación «HOLOTYPUS, Scythris pseudolocustella Passerin d'Entrèves & Vives, n. sp.». «Almedina, a 901 m, Ciudad Real, 29-VI-1985 (M. J. Rueda leg.)». Se encuentra depositado en la colección A. Vives Moreno, Madrid, ESPAÑA.”
