3.1. Taxonomie

Stadie & Fiebig (2014: 234) erklären: “Probably all old reports of C. elinguaria from the Caucasus, Transcaucasus and Asia Minor actually refer to C. elingomorpha. So far no authentic vouchers supporting the presence of C. elinguaria could be traced. A final decision regarding the status of the newly described species was difficult, and changed twice in the course of the study. The surprising fact that the material studies [sic, recte: studied] was found sympatrically with C. inexpectata caucasi, together with the restricted Caucasian distribution make us sure that C. elingomorpha sp. n[.] is a valid species.” Sinev (2019: 385, Fußnote 8015) bemerkt dazu: “Самостоятельность вида относительно Crocallis inexpectata caucasi Wehrli, 1954 требует подтверждения (примечание Е.А.Беляева).” [Die Verschiedenheit der Art zu Crocallis inexpectata caucasi Wehrli, 1954 erfordert eine Bestätigung (Anmerkung von E. 3.2. Faunistik

Der locus typicus liegt in der Türkei.

Von den Fundorten in Russland, die Stadie & Fiebig (2014: 233) für die Paratypen nennen, befinden sich drei nördlich des Kaukasus-Hauptkamms, davon zwei in Karatschai-Tscherkessien – Teberda = Теберда und Dombai = Домбай – sowie einer in der Region Stawropol: Pjatigorsk, Berg Maschuk = Пятигорск, Машук. Damit zählt die Art zur europäischen Fauna, sofern man nicht die Manytsch-Niederung als enger gezogene, innereurasische Grenze bevorzugt. Sinev (2019: 237) markiert die von ihm definierte Region „13“ (Westkaukasische Region).

Stadie & Fiebig (2014: 233): “Holotype ♂, Türkei, Prov.(ince) Rize, 14.-15.VIII.(19)99 ca. (zirka) 2100m Ovitdagi Gecidi, 6 km N.(ördlich) d.(er) Paßhöhe, leg. Schacht/Bucsi, coll. F. Stadie later ZSM (DS 139/2012)”. — Paratypen: 8 Falter aus der Türkei und Russland.
